Okay this time around I'm just feeling this out to remember how to update this thing again.
I started paying for Neocities premium, partly just so I can support the service, but also because...well yeah I absolutely wanna have a bit more freedom with the site. As you might have already seen, I have a custom domain on the site now! Having premium also means I have a little more freedom with what I can upload here. I'm not sure how I'm gonna take advantage of that just yet. We'll just have to see with time. At the very least it grants me a fair bit more storage space, which means more room for art and comics. And with all the Deltarune nonsense I've been drawing lately, I think the gallery page is long overdue for a little update. Especially before I get too far behind with updates again.
But yeah, for $5 a month, I wanna make sure I'm really getting my money's worth out of this site, so I'm gonna try to update this here blog a bit more often, for real this time. As usually, we'll see how long that holds true, but lately I've been wanting to be able to braindump a bit more about my interests and such, so this feels like a good opportunity to make some use of this place! As I mentioned over on Bluesky, I've been getting back into Xevious lately. For that matter, I've been trying to get back into a lot of games lately. I feel like for the last few years I've been mostly work and not enough play, so I'm trying to make time to finally catch up on all the games that caught my interest but I never made more than a few minutes for at most. And...hey, this feels like a good place to talk about what I'm playing every now and again! Why not, right? It's been a while since I could do a little ramble about games. Not a lot of great places to do it. Cohost felt the most comfortable for that sort of thing, and that's been gone for a while now. Tumblr allows for longform posts, but I don't know that I necessarily want to blog on there. This feels right.
Anyway, yeah, I think I might try to do a little ramble about Xevious this week. About what, I'm not sure! There's admittedly a lot about the series that I'm not familiar with! Hell, this week I just learned there was a series beyond the original game and Xevious Arrangement from Namco Classic Collection Vol. 1! So with that in mind, I'm not exactly equipped to do a whole thing on it the way I would with something smaller and more familiar to me like Pac-Attack. Who knows, maybe I'll keep going down the rabbit hole and end up doing a bunch of research on it after all! But I think I'll just start with my thoughts on the original game, and the little odds and ends that I do know about the series.
